Description

Even pre-readers can learn to code with Tynker Junior! Tynker Junior is the fun, interactive way to spark your child’s interest in coding. Young children (ages 5-7) learn the fundamentals of coding by snapping together graphical blocks to move their characters.

Tynker Junior was inspired by the award-winning Tynker programming language (tynker.com), used by 60 million kids and in over 90,000 schools worldwide. The graphical language and user interface have been redesigned to make it easy for pre-readers, with word-free picture blocks, a tap-based interface, friendly voiceovers, helpful hints, as well as a gentle progression of difficulty to motivate completion.

Tynker Junior includes 200+ coding challenges in 5 puzzle-based adventures and 2 project creation studios:

OCEAN ODYSSEY
Learn sequencing and pattern recognition in this fun underwater adventure, as you help Gillie the goldfish collect coins!

ROBOTS!
Bring wacky robots to life and fix the programming in a robot factory while you learn about events and parameters.

WILD RUMBLE
Help eight endangered animals traverse a jungle path while avoiding obstacles, using counting loops, delays, and parameters.

PUFFBALL PANIC
Help adorable dust bunnies add to their sock collection as you apply conditional loops to navigate a dynamic environment.

SUPER SQUAD
Join the Super Squad and retrieve stolen museum treasure from super villains using conditional logic to handle changing situations.

[NEW] ART AND MUSIC STUDIO
Generate math art and compose music using a sandbox environment that allows you to create programs using coding skills you have learned.

[NEW] ANIMATION STUDIO
Make interactive animations and tell stories using a set of sandboxes that allow you to create programs with code.

When you are done with Tynker Junior, you can download Tynker, our other app that includes 14 additional adventures, as well as a full-featured Workshop to build games, control toys, and build Minecraft add ons.

WHAT KIDS LEARN:
• Understand cause and effect as they use code blocks
• Learn how to solve problems and create programs with code
• Master coding concepts as they complete puzzles and build projects
• Advance to learn about loops, conditional logic, and debugging
• Use code to create animations, stories, music, and math art

WHAT IS TYNKER?
Tynker is a complete learning system that teaches kids to code. Kids begin experimenting with visual blocks, then progress to JavaScript, Swift, and Python as they design games, build apps, and make incredible projects. Over 60 million kids around the world have started coding with Tynker.

Computer programming is an important 21st century skill that kids can start learning at any age. While coding with Tynker, kids apply skills such as critical thinking, pattern recognition, focus, problem solving, debugging, resilience, sequencing, spatial visualization, and algorithmic thinking. Tynker’s block coding makes it easy for them to learn conditional logic, repetition, variables, and functions – the same coding concepts used in any mainstream programming language such as Swift, JavaScript or Python.

Cute characters the kiddos love

Cute characters and lovely graphics disguise surprisingly complex coding concepts. Must admit I sat and played through all the levels before the kiddos even got their hands on it! Love that blocks are provided so no guessing or searching. Seems like the perfect level of difficulty for kindergarten ages.
